Day 1 Highlights: 230+ Exhibitors and 700+ Global Buyers at Guangzhou Cosmetics Week 2026
The The 4th Guangzhou Cosmetics Week Opens, Bringing the World Closer to Chinese Beauty.
On November 4, the The 4th Guangzhou Cosmetics Week officially opened at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center under the theme “Greater Bay Area, Leading Global Trends.” With an enhanced scale, broader connections and a richer programme, this year’s event is showcasing the strength and vitality of Guangzhou’s cosmetics industry to the world—and bringing its vision of “Let the World Enjoy Chinese Beauty” to life.
1. Global Buyers’ Sourcing Season Kicks Off, with 230+ Exhibitors Joining the Industry Showcase
Running from November 4 to 5, the highly anticipated Global Buyers’ Sourcing Season at the The 4th Guangzhou Cosmetics Week got off to a dynamic start. This year’s event has expanded in scale, bringing together more than 230 Chinese and international companies across the entire cosmetics value chain, including ingredients, manufacturing, brands, packaging and services. On the opening day alone, the event welcomed more than 7,000 professional visitors, making an immediate impact as the “Canton Fair of the Beauty Industry.”
International exhibitors included industry leaders such as Procter & Gamble (China) Co., Ltd. and Colgate-Palmolive, alongside multinational companies including Unilever and Amway China Co. Ltd. Their participation highlights Guangzhou’s appeal as a key hub in the global beauty supply chain.
Upstream, companies such as Shenzhen Winkey Technology Co.,Ltd and Guangzhou Flower Flavours & Fragrances Co., Ltd. showcased their strengths in ingredients, technology and R&D. Midstream manufacturers included Nox Bellcow Cosmetics Co.,Ltd., Guangdong Bawei Biological Technology Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Xujohn Bio-Technique Co., Ltd. and Guangdong Tengyu Group Co., Ltd. Downstream, established brands such as Guangzhou Liby Enterprise Group Co., Ltd., Guyu Biotechnology Group Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Carslan Enterprise Management Co.,Ltd, Guangdong Kangaroo Mommy Group Co., Ltd., Adolph, MARUBI and Perfect Diary were also represented. The presence of international giants alongside leading Chinese companies reflects the overall strength of Guangzhou’s cosmetics industry and provides an ideal platform for international and domestic businesses to exchange expertise and explore collaborative innovation.
Across the exhibition halls, business discussions were focused and practical. Rather than formal introductions, exhibitors and buyers were getting straight into discussions about formulations, production capacity, delivery and regulatory compliance. For many companies, the value of Cosmetics Week goes well beyond securing orders. Gu Jinyu, Overseas Trade Director at Bawei, explained that the products showcased by the company fell into two broad categories: technology-driven innovations and products tailored to differentiated market needs. On the technology side, Bawei presented microfluidic technology and specialty filling products. For different markets—including Europe, Southeast Asia and North America—the company also offered customized solutions suited to regional skin profiles and sun-care requirements. She noted a marked increase in first-time overseas buyers at this year’s event. Several in-depth discussions had already taken place during the overseas buyer matchmaking session that morning, turning what can often be costly overseas customer-acquisition efforts into efficient, face-to-face business opportunities.
Jiang Xiaolan, Cosmetics Product Manager at HEXZE, presented the brand’s best-selling product portfolio in Vietnam, including a 2-in-1 cushion compact, dual-chamber body scrub, colourful lip mud and liquid blush. In her view, Chinese colour cosmetics have developed clear strengths in product innovation, convenience, variety and appealing design. “Cute products with attractive designs are particularly popular among young consumers overseas,” she said. HEXZE hopes to use the exhibition to connect with more international buyers and supply-chain partners.
Ingredient and packaging suppliers are also taking a more strategic approach to exhibiting. Yan Linbo, Chairman of Guangdong Sench Technology Co., Ltd., said the company had connected with buyers from Russia as well as several domestic brands looking to expand their product ranges. Notably, Sench Technology was once again among the first exhibitors to rebook its booth for the next edition—making this the second consecutive year it has secured its place at the earliest opportunity. This decision reflects the company’s long-term confidence in the platform: Cosmetics Week is not simply an annual opportunity for exposure, but an industry asset that can build lasting value, be leveraged over time and support business growth. As of 6:00 p.m. on November 4, 25 exhibitors had already rebooked their booths for next year.
Zhang Younian, Founder of Guangzhou Keli Biotechnology Co., Ltd, also praised the strong turnout. “The overseas buyers here are highly relevant to our business. Our own brand has already established a leading position in China’s offline market, with a strong focus on professional hair salons. We hope to use the Cosmetics Week platform to bring our strengths in hair care and cleansing products to overseas markets such as Southeast Asia and Russia,” he said.
2. More Than 700 Global Buyers Take Part in Matchmaking, Connecting Demand with the Right Suppliers
To connect global sourcing needs with the strengths of China’s cosmetics industry, the event also hosted a dedicated overseas buyer matchmaking programme. More than 700 buyers from around the world came to Guangzhou, representing key beauty markets across Southeast Asia, North America and Europe. With clearly defined needs in product sourcing, OEM/ODM manufacturing and supply-chain procurement, buyers held one-to-one meetings with Chinese factories and brands—enabling direct communication and more efficient business discussions.
Julia from Russia-based Amigos LLC was looking for packaging suppliers for cosmetics and shower gels. Mateos, Sourcing Manager at Spain’s Mec Cosmetics, was seeking skincare, facial cleansing and lip products. He praised the breadth of China’s supply chain, noting the large number of factories and the strong balance between quality and price. Cai Xiaodong, General Manager of Beauty Biotech Vietnam, also attended to source products in depth. With demand for functional skincare growing rapidly in Vietnam, he was looking for competitively priced fragrances and body-care products that meet local regulatory requirements. His plan is to bring high-quality cosmetics from Guangdong to Vietnamese consumers through local distribution channels.
These face-to-face meetings are helping overcome information barriers between markets. Overseas buyers are bringing first-hand insight into local market demand, while Chinese suppliers are demonstrating their technical capabilities and ability to deliver. This two-way engagement is laying a stronger foundation for Chinese beauty brands and manufacturers to expand internationally.
3.Key Overseas Market Trends Unveiled, Highlighting New Opportunities for Global Growth
As Chinese beauty brands move into a more advanced stage of international expansion, simply entering overseas markets is no longer enough. The real challenge is to build sustainable operations, achieve long-term growth and establish strong brand identities. At this year’s Cosmetics Week, five sessions focused on overseas market trends. Leading cross-border platforms—including TikTok, Temu, Shopee, Qoo10 Japan and Mercado Libre—shared insights into traffic and platform rules, consumer preferences, category opportunities and operating strategies across different regions, helping businesses identify clearer paths through complex international markets.
Intertek Group also provided guidance across five key areas: changes in overseas regulations, labelling compliance, ingredient registration and filing, cross-border product testing, and intellectual property. The sessions emphasized the importance of making regulatory compliance a core part of international expansion strategy, rather than treating it as a risk to address only after entering a market. A consensus is emerging across the industry: the era of rapid, unstructured market entry is over. The future belongs to brands and manufacturers that understand platform ecosystems, respect local regulations, focus on product efficacy and build strong localization capabilities.
