THE 4TH GUANGZHOU COSMETICS WEEK
The fourth Guangzhou Cosmetics Week will take place on November 4–8, connecting global buyers, brands, research institutions and supply-chain companies in Guangzhou.
At a pivotal moment when China’s beauty industry is accelerating toward high-quality development, competition is shifting from individual products to a broader contest of brand strength, technology, channels and global capabilities. To support the industry’s next stage of growth and raise the international profile of Chinese beauty brands, the fourth Guangzhou Cosmetics Week will be held in Guangzhou from November 4 to 8. The event is jointly hosted by the Guangdong Medical Products Administration and the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government.
Guided by the principle of “government-enabled, industry-co-created and globally connected,” this year’s event will bring together beauty-industry resources from around the world through a higher-level, broader and more deeply connected program. It aims to serve as an international platform for trend leadership, industry exchange, brand presentation and trade cooperation, while strengthening the global influence of Guangzhou’s “International Beauty Bay” and helping China’s beauty industry move further up the global value chain.
Building an Authoritative Platform
A New Reference Point for China’s Beauty Industry
Since its launch in 2023, Guangzhou Cosmetics Week has used an international, market-oriented and brand-focused approach to bring industry resources together and create greater value. It has quickly developed into an influential annual industry event and an important platform through which China’s beauty sector connects with global resources and showcases innovation.
Beyond exhibitions and trade, the event places particular emphasis on building an industry ecosystem and creating long-term value. Its role is not limited to presenting the achievements of beauty companies. It also brings together government bodies, research institutions, brands, supply-chain businesses and international market resources, enabling deeper exchange and cooperation across the value chain.
China’s beauty industry is moving from scale-driven expansion toward innovation-led growth. Companies need more than market opportunities; they also need platforms that provide trend insight, technical exchange, resource integration and industry collaboration.
By responding directly to these needs, Guangzhou Cosmetics Week promotes industry consensus, helps companies understand market direction and improve innovation capabilities, and injects fresh momentum into the high-quality development of China’s beauty industry.
Supporting Global Expansion
Building New Advantages for Chinese Beauty Companies Worldwide
As the competitiveness of China’s beauty industry continues to rise, international expansion is evolving from product exports toward the export of complete industrial capabilities.
With a comprehensive industrial chain, mature R&D and manufacturing capacity, and steadily improving innovation, China has developed end-to-end advantages spanning raw-material research, formulation, packaging design, intelligent manufacturing and market services. More companies are using overseas operations, localized production and global resource coordination to offer efficient, flexible and integrated solutions to international markets. This deeper capability is becoming a major force behind the globalization of Chinese beauty.
Guangzhou is a central hub in this process. As one of China’s leading beauty-industry clusters, it combines a complete ecosystem with a strong supply-chain base. Guangzhou Cosmetics Week will use these advantages to connect domestic and international resources, deepen cooperation among suppliers, brands and global distribution channels, and help Chinese beauty supply chains expand worldwide.
During the third Guangzhou Cosmetics Week, the Global Buyers Sourcing Season attracted 709 international buyers from 31 countries and regions. Confirmed and intended orders exceeded US$200 million, livestream and product-promotion sales surpassed RMB 50 million, and coverage by 60 domestic and international mainstream media outlets generated more than 370 million impressions. The results demonstrated the increasingly strong connection between China’s beauty industry and international markets.
This year’s event will bring together more than 250 Chinese and international exhibitors across the full value chain, including brands, intelligent manufacturing, ingredients and packaging. Organizers aim to build a “Canton Fair for the beauty industry.” Confirmed participants include brands such as Liby, Fuerjia, Colorkey, Liushimu and Hi!Papa, as well as supply-chain companies including Nox Bellcow, Bawei, Xuzhuang, Shifei and Tengyu.
Guangzhou Cosmetics Week is now more than an industry event. It has become a window onto the globalization of China’s beauty sector. Building on the first three editions, the fourth event will further accelerate the shift from exporting products to exporting industrial capabilities, help Chinese beauty supply chains integrate into global industry networks and create new competitive advantages in international markets.
Deepening International Connections
Creating a New Hub for Global Beauty Cooperation
International reach is a defining feature that sets Guangzhou Cosmetics Week apart from conventional industry events. With a higher-level program, a broader outlook and a richer content structure, the fourth edition is extending a new “beauty invitation” to the world and strengthening connections between China’s beauty industry and global markets.
The event will operate at a larger scale. Total attendance is expected to reach 10,000, bringing together government officials, academicians in cosmetics and biosciences, university and research experts, industry and academic leaders, brand decision-makers, overseas buyer groups, new-retail channel representatives, influencers and mainstream media. The participant mix spans the entire chain from industry to consumer markets.
Its international reach will also expand. The Global Buyers Sourcing Season is expected to attract more than 1,000 overseas sourcing delegates and representatives from over 70 consulates in Guangzhou. The program will help Chinese beauty companies access priority markets across Latin America, Australia, the Middle East, Africa, the European Union, Russia, Southeast Asia and Central Asia. A series of international buyer matchmaking meetings will connect suppliers with specific purchasing needs.
The program will be structured around five linked dimensions: exhibitions, conferences, rankings, showcases and commerce.
- Conferences: A conference on high-quality cosmetics development will be held on the morning of November 5, featuring industry announcements, keynote reports and ranking releases, alongside research, technology and cross-border market-trend sessions.
- Exhibitions: The Global Buyers Sourcing Season will bring together international brands, emerging Chinese brands, upstream ingredients, packaging design and industry services.
- Rankings: Authoritative rankings guided by innovation, quality and global co-creation will recognize industry benchmarks.
- Showcases: New-product premieres will combine fashion presentations with immersive experiences to create a flagship platform for Guangzhou’s launch economy.
- Commerce: Leading platforms including Douyin E-commerce and Vipshop will support online programs for a public shopping day.
In addition, 15 industry study routes will take overseas sourcing groups into Guangzhou beauty-industry parks, leading R&D laboratories, national testing centers and major brand headquarters, offering a close look at the technical and industrial strengths of the “International Beauty Bay.”
Conversations begin here. Orders take shape here. Brands become visible to the world here, and their influence begins to travel further. Guangzhou, a trading city with more than a millennium of commercial history, understands the value of connection. Every edition of Guangzhou Cosmetics Week has brought China’s beauty industry closer to the world.
Starting from Guangzhou and connecting globally, the fourth Guangzhou Cosmetics Week will link industry resources through an international outlook and an open approach, helping China’s beauty sector participate more deeply in global development and demonstrate new industrial value on the world stage.
