Henkel Recalls Select Schwarzkopf Professional Osis Grip Batches in US
Henkel has issued a voluntary U.S. recall for select lots of Schwarzkopf Professional Osis Grip over packaging leaks that pose a risk of container rupture.
Henkel is voluntarily recalling select lots of its Schwarzkopf Professional Osis Grip styling product (6.76 fl. oz / 200 ml) sold in the United States due to a packaging issue that could cause cans to leak under pressure.
According to the recall notice posted on the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) website, the German consumer goods giant reported that liquid leakage from the pressurized container creates a potential "risk of explosion." Henkel initiated the voluntary recall after receiving one customer complaint and two reports from professional hair salons. The customer reported minor hand bruising, and no other injuries have been identified.
The recall covers aluminum cans distributed across 25 specific batch codes:

Cans from these lots were sold directly to hair care professionals as well as retail consumers.
Henkel confirmed that no other products in its portfolio are impacted by this recall. Schwarzkopf Professional Osis Grip units bearing batch codes outside the designated list remain safe for professional and personal use.
Consumers and salon operators holding recalled units are advised to stop using them and return them to the original place of purchase for a full refund. Henkel customer specialists are available to answer questions at 1-800-234-4672, Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time, and Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
The packaging issue comes during a period of steady category performance, where U.S. beauty sales rose 7% across prestige and mass channels, emphasizing the importance of container integrity and supply chain transparency for beauty brands.
