Code8 Beauty Opens Second London Store with Bespoke Lipstick Experience

Following the launch of its Covent Garden flagship in May, British beauty house Code8 has opened its second London boutique, continuing its retail expansion in the UK capital.

Located at Jubilee Place in Canary Wharf, the 650-square-foot space is designed around personalized service and "intelligent beauty." Alongside Code8’s curated edit of high-performance makeup, the boutique introduces the brand’s signature Bespoke Lipstick Experience. This personalized appointment enhances the consumer experience, allowing guests to co-create a custom lipstick shade tailored entirely to their preferences.

This experiential approach to brick-and-mortar retail reflects a broader beauty industry trend, where brands are increasingly investing in physical touchpoints to deepen consumer connection. For instance, wellness and beauty brands are securing fresh capital to accelerate retail and product growth in highly competitive markets.

Conceived and directed by founder Sophia Chikovani, the Canary Wharf store embodies the brand's philosophy of "beauty in simplicity" through a warm, refined, and quietly luxurious environment.

Architecturally, the boutique draws inspiration from modern beauty rituals rather than traditional cosmetics retail. The design combines rich dark wood finishes, natural travertine stone, brushed brass accents, and soft architectural lighting to create an intimate, elevated space.

The boutique also adopts a "less is more" approach to product merchandising, presenting a highly curated selection of products in a calm, intentional layout. This curated strategy mirrors how other sectors are entering the beauty space, such as preppy fashion e-tailers launching curated beauty verticals to offer highly targeted product edits to their audiences.

"I wanted the store to reflect exactly the same philosophy as the products themselves—intelligent simplicity, warmth, and ease," Chikovani said. "Canary Wharf felt like a very natural home for our second store: a destination where beauty, fashion, and culture intersect, and where customers are looking for discovery, experience, and quality."
