Style Capital Enters Beauty Sector with Investment in Essential Parfums

Milan-based private equity firm Style Capital, known for its fashion, luxury, and lifestyle portfolio under the leadership of Roberta Benaglia, has announced a strategic partnership with Essential Parfums. The fast-growing Parisian niche fragrance house was founded by Géraldine and Stanislas Archambault. Under the terms of the deal, Style Capital will invest alongside the founders, who will retain a majority stake and continue to lead the company. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Why It Matters This deal marks Style Capital's official entry into the beauty sector, highlighting the growing appeal of niche fragrance brands to private equity firms seeking high-margin, scalable lifestyle assets.

The partnership aims to support Essential Parfums in its next phase of growth. Key focus areas include accelerating international expansion, strengthening the brand's retail and distribution network, expanding the product pipeline, and enhancing operational capabilities. Throughout this expansion, the brand plans to preserve its creative independence, entrepreneurial culture, and core identity.

Founded in Paris in 2018, Essential Parfums has carved out a distinct space in the niche fragrance sector by putting the scents—and the master perfumers who create them—at the center of its business model. The brand collaborates with some of the world's most renowned perfumers. Sustainable sourcing and accessible pricing have also driven the French brand's success, fueling an expanding international footprint across select retail partners, direct-to-consumer boutiques, and e-commerce platforms.

"Essential Parfums is a highly distinctive brand, still founder-led, with a unique value proposition in the niche fragrance sector and a model that brings genuine innovation to the category," said Massimiliano Caraffa, Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Style Capital, in a statement. "Géraldine and Stanislas have built a transparent, responsible, and accessible offering that celebrates the artistry of leading perfumers. We look forward to supporting them in strengthening the brand and accelerating its international growth, while preserving what makes Essential Parfums unique."

"Essential Parfums represents a major milestone in the evolution of Style Capital. This is our first investment in the beauty industry, reflecting our ambition to expand our focus beyond fashion and luxury," added Roberta Benaglia, founder and CEO of Style Capital. "We aim to support premium brands in select lifestyle categories where creativity, product excellence, and international scalability can drive long-term value. This partnership is a clear example of the direction we want to take our platform."

Over the past decade, Style Capital—whose portfolio includes brands such as Autry, Soeur, Re/Done, forte_forte, and MSGM—has built a strong track record of accelerating organic growth for lifestyle brands. The firm provides strategic and operational support alongside growth capital. This move aligns with a broader global trend of investment flowing into independent beauty brands, such as when Nopalera raised $4 million to fuel its retail expansion and scale its operations. Benaglia had recently indicated her intention to diversify the fund's portfolio by expanding into new lifestyle segments.
