Global Beauty Buyers Head to Shanghai for Sourcing Summit

The countdown has begun for the 3rd China Beauty Going-Global Conference on August 21 at the Pullman Shanghai Zhongxing Hotel, connecting Chinese beauty supply chains with international distribution channels.

As insights from global beauty’s first-half earnings reports show, beauty brands worldwide are increasingly optimizing their supply chain partnerships to balance product innovation with cost management. This year's summit has confirmed 23 major buyers representing 14 countries: Brazil, Russia, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Canada. The attendees represent five core channel types—brand owners, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and influencer management agencies (MCNs)—with sourcing demands spanning skincare, color cosmetics, hair care, fragrances, personal care, packaging, and raw materials.

Global Buyer Lineup Covers Key Emerging and Established Markets

The participating international buyers highlight growing global interest in Chinese cosmetic manufacturing, covering both high-growth emerging regions and established beauty markets.

Latin American buyers are making a notable push. Brazil, the world's fourth-largest beauty market, is sending representatives from three major brands and channels, including Evoóc Cosméticos, Eico Cosméticos, and Donatti Professionale, which operates over 10 retail locations serving more than 25,000 customers. Meanwhile, Mexico's IM Natural and Argentina's Arbell-Natural Cosmetics are focusing on organic and natural skincare.

European buyers are targeting specific manufacturing strengths. France's CORSICA BEAUTY, the Netherlands' Anviri Cosmetics, and Spain's Alex Carro Skincare are seeking finished goods and contract manufacturing partners across color cosmetics and premium skincare, reflecting European interest in Chinese Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) capabilities and product innovation.

Southeast Asia represents the largest regional delegation. Vietnam's delegation includes major retail chain AB Beauty World (operating 30+ stores with over 20,000 SKUs), Saigon Cosmetics Company, Phuc Minh Duong Trading Co., medical beauty aesthetic channel My Kim Beauty, and MCN agency Vietnam Qiyue Media. Indonesia is represented by influencer distribution network iBooming and local cosmetic brand HEYXI, alongside Thailand's Fanxiang Trading and Malaysia's CSAC Trading.

Buyers from other key growth markets include Russia's ELISPROF AKVAVITA and Garnier LLC, Pakistan's men's care brand Dari Mooch and organic line Conatural, Saudi retail operator MIDI (which manages over 200 storefronts across the Middle East), and Canada's Atiara Trading Inc., a major supplier to North American Asian grocery chains including T&T Supermarket.

Sourcing Demands Span Skincare, Makeup, Ingredients, and Packaging

Disclosed sourcing lists indicate that overseas buyers are seeking a four-part supply chain integration: finished products, raw materials, primary packaging, and contract manufacturing (OEM/ODM).

Skincare remains the highest-demand category. Sourcing priorities cover serums, creams, cleansers, sunscreens, eye care, anti-acne formulations, whitening products, and skin-barrier repair treatments. Russia's ELISPROF AKVAVITA is sourcing serums formulated with hyaluronic acid and eye peptides, Pakistan's Conatural is seeking niacinamide and Vitamin C serums, Spain's Alex Carro Skincare is looking for innovative skincare capsules, and Vietnam's My Kim Beauty is targeting post-procedure aesthetic repair lines.

Color cosmetics continue to see strong demand across lipsticks, lip glosses, eyeshadows, cushion compacts, eyebrow pencils, mascaras, eyeliners, and setting powders. Buyers including Anviri Cosmetics (Netherlands), IM Natural (Mexico), and CORSICA BEAUTY (France) have submitted contract manufacturing requests for finished makeup lines.

Hair care and personal care show expanded potential. Brazilian buyers are sourcing shampoos, conditioners, hair masks, hair oils, and styling products. Russia's Garnier LLC is procuring raw ingredients such as glycerin and Vitamin E along with facial mist sprays, while Canada's Atiara is targeting personal care, hand creams, and fine fragrance.

Upstream supply chain needs have exceeded expectations. Saigon Cosmetics Company is seeking fragrance bottles and essential oils, Indonesia's HEYXI and Thailand's Fanxiang Trading are requesting custom packaging solutions, Brazil's Evoóc is sourcing fatty acids, silicone oils, and fragrance compounds, and Russia's ELISPROF is procuring specialized surfactants. Packaging and active raw materials are fast becoming key export growth drivers for Chinese beauty manufacturers.

Matchmaking Sessions Drive Direct Contracting

Unlike traditional trade fair formats focused on casual booth visits, the summit features pre-scheduled one-on-one matchmaking sessions. Participating suppliers and buyers are pre-screened based on procurement specifications, manufacturing capacity, and regulatory certifications to facilitate direct business deals on-site.

The 3rd China Beauty Going-Global Conference opens August 21 at the Pullman Shanghai Zhongxing Hotel, hosting face-to-face commercial negotiations between international trade buyers and Chinese manufacturers.
