K-Beauty Sales Surge 53% Globally as Social Commerce Drives Demand

Korean beauty brands are experiencing explosive global growth, driven by digitally savvy consumers and rapid regional innovation, according to a new report by consumer intelligence firm NIQ. Social commerce has emerged as a primary catalyst, accelerating K-Beauty's footprint across international markets.

Citing data from TikTok Shop, NIQ noted that searches for K-Beauty on the platform surged by 125% in the UK in 2025. TikTok Shop also reported a 430% year-over-year increase in value sales for K-Beauty brands across the UK, US, Spain, and Germany. This surge aligns with the platform's broader momentum, as TikTok Shop nears $1 billion in beauty sales and cements its status as a critical channel for modern beauty brands.

Significant momentum is also building in Latin America, where Brazil and Mexico registered a staggering 135% value growth for K-Beauty products. Meanwhile, Western Europe saw a 58% year-over-year increase. The category now accounts for 10% of online skincare sales in Europe, climbing to 15% to 20% in key markets like Italy, Spain, and France.

In the Middle East, K-Beauty e-commerce sales grew by 76%, driven by once-niche products—such as sheet masks, acne patches, essences, and serums—becoming daily skincare essentials. In North America, e-commerce dominates, representing 76% of K-Beauty sales, with Canada reporting a 57% year-over-year increase in 2025.

"K-Beauty has moved beyond trend status to become one of the clearest examples of how regional beauty innovation can translate into global growth," Tara James Taylor, NIQ’s Senior Vice President of the Global Beauty and Personal Care Vertical, said in a statement. "Its success is built on speed, cultural relevance, and the ability to turn innovation into everyday habits. More importantly, it shows how beauty brands now need to read emerging regional signals earlier, understand how consumer demand is shifting, and act faster across markets. The next phase of growth will come from expansion into adjacent categories such as wellness and haircare, and from scaling across high-growth regions like Latin America and the Middle East."
